"3x Thunderbolt 3" - this suggests two Thunderbolt 3 controllers. But if you have two DisplayPort outputs, then that should say "External Monitors". Are they DisplayPort inputs (like BlackMagic eGPU internally to allow connecting Thunderbolt display to GPU of eGPU) or output (downstream connectors that display image from GPU of computer)? You have a chart that says "External Monitor" which suggests output only - disappointing because Thunderbolt displays like the new Apple Pro Display XDR cannot be connected to the GPU. "2x DisplayPort 1.4" - this suggests Titan Ridge controllers. Actually, you have the 2800 MB/s number on the tech specs page. The rest of the bandwidth can only be used by DisplayPort.
"transfers files up to 40Gbps" Files cannot be transferred faster than 22Gbps with Thunderbolt 3. Unless you are saying this eGPU enclosure uses a Titan Ridge Thunderbolt 3 controller and has a second Thunderbolt 3 port for daisy chaining or downstream DisplayPort 1.4 connector? No eGPU has used Titan Ridge before except the BlackMagic eGPU. "8K resolution" - that just depends on the GPU and has nothing to do with the eGPU enclosure. "also prioritizes the bandwidth" how does it do that, beyond the built in firmware of the Thunderbolt controllers? Do you have custom firmware? "dual controller" <- marketing speak means two controllers not connected at all to each other - might as well glue two Thunderbolt docks together but I guess this will look nicer and maybe be more compact. "comparing to existing eGPU’s", "getting an excellent stability" They should be connected on different sides for max.
This implies that the maximum bandwidth for the eGPU and other PCIe connection is 16Gbps each if I’m not mistaken (I believe had an explanation which I missed/couldn’t find but remember - pls feel free to correct). In the same section, the image used shows a MacBook Pro (presumably) connecting to the eGFX box with 2 thunderbolt cables on 1 side. Perhaps adding a list of ports would be great. They are easy to see on your shared image however. Third, in your ports section: it doesn’t tell us much about what all ports are actually present. How? Any Thunderbolt 3 device (except bus-powered) would work with TB1 or TB2 with the right adapters. Second, the statement says TB1 and TB2 systems are supported due to dual controllers.
The Mac Pro from 2013 will get a significant performance boost with BlackBeast Pro.įirst, you do know that the 2013 Mac Pro does not support external GPUs officially right? Here’s Apple’s official document:
In addition Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 computers are also supported due to the dual controller. However, I have questions about a statement on your website: will be there to check it out it seems (according to his post in this thread).
